Definitions

Application refers to AI Read Aloud: Text to Speech, the software program provided by the Company.

Information We Collect

a) Files You Provide

When you import PDF or EPUB files from your device, Google Drive, or OneDrive, the files are processed locally on your device for text extraction and rendering. Document text is sent to our servers solely for AI text-to-speech audio generation and is not stored after processing.

b) Usage and Analytics Data

We collect anonymized usage data through Firebase Analytics, including app interactions, feature usage (e.g., playback sessions, voice selections, cloud library browsing), session duration, listening minutes, and general device information. This data helps us improve the Application experience.

c) Crash and Performance Data

We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash logs, error reports, and performance diagnostics. This data is anonymized and used solely for identifying and resolving technical issues.

d) Subscription and Purchase Data

Subscription management is handled through Adapty. We do not directly collect or store your payment information. All transactions are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Adapty manages subscription status, trial periods, and purchase validation on our behalf.

e) Advertising Data

For free-tier users, we display advertisements via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and usage data to serve relevant advertisements. You can manage your ad preferences through your device settings.

f) Locally Stored Data

The following data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers:

Playback position per file
Voice preference settings
Recently played files
Cached audio files (Pro users only)

How We Use Your Information

Process your documents for audio playback via Google Cloud Text-to-Speech API

Data Storage and Security

Document text sent for TTS processing is not stored on our servers after audio generation is complete.
Playback preferences, cached audio, and recently played files are stored locally on your device.
Cached audio for Pro users is persisted locally and is invalidated upon downgrade to the free tier.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data during transmission.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

Data Protection and Applicable Laws

The collection and processing of personal data is governed by applicable data protection laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the European Union, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for users in California.

Children’s Privacy

Our Application is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate action to remove such information.
